Hex products are grown, made, and harvested on our small apiary and lavender farm outside Monroe, Washington.
We distill our lavender in small batches to create essential oil and hydrosol (lavender water). We grow "true" lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and harvest it for culinary use, in baking and cooking.
Our woodenware is made from the big leaf maples that grow right here, and we harvest the wood using sustainable woodlot management practices. And all of our wood products are finished with a food-safe, beeswax-based finish.
But at the heart of it all are the honeybees. We tend our beehives ourselves, making sure they’re healthy and vigorous. To counteract the threats to the honeybees—and our other pollinator friends—of diminishing habitat and an increasingly toxic environment, we cultivate the lavender and other bee-friendly plants to make sure our fuzzy friends have enough to eat.
It's hard work, but that's okay. This attention to detail results in honey and lavender products of exceptionally high quality. And that makes life sweet.
